The Taylor House was a wedding present to William Harman Taylor, Sr. and Martha Louise Newton from her parents William Horace Newton and Clara Perdue Newton. In 1941 after the birth of their two children the home was enlarged. The "garden room" was added as a playroom and has been the scene of many happy times for three generations. The "sunroom" was originally a brick outdoor terrace and was enclosed to enjoy the sun throughout the year. Several of the home's furnishings hold special memories and remain in the home today. The Taylor House is filled with memories of the happy childhoods of 3 generations. Everyone coming into this home received a warm welcome from the Taylors. Today, family members want this tradition to continue.
